Uxbridge ERO Alert: Deadline September 28
A major pit “restoration” project is being proposed for a portion of the Oak Ridges Moraine in Uxbridge. The deadline for comments is 11:59 p.m. on September 28.
SASE Aggregates Ltd. is seeking provincial approval to amend two aggregate licences north of Coppins Corners in Uxbridge. The applications propose changing the final grading of the areas to allow for approximately 5.265 million cubic metres of excess soil to be imported to the two sites, along with what appears to be a recycling facility and materials yard.
As recently reported by the Uxbridge Cosmos, Uxbridge Council has raised a series of concerns with the proposal and ultimately passed a resolution objecting to the proposed amendments. Core questions raised by Council included the amount of fill being imported, the source of that fill, and the number of trucks and amount of traffic that would be entering and leaving the site.
This is an opportunity for residents to review the proposal, ask questions, and put their concerns on the record.
